Walk-Through Gates Built to Match Your Fence

A well-made pedestrian gate is the finishing touch on any fence - and it needs to work as well as it looks. At Amazing Fences, we build and install walk-through gates in timber, aluminium and steel that are properly hung, close cleanly and hold up to years of daily use.

Whether you need a simple side-access gate, a feature entrance gate for your front path, or a heavy-duty security gate for a commercial site, we'll build it to suit your fence style, your opening width and your hardware preferences.

We use quality post anchors, stainless steel or galvanised hardware, and correctly sized hinges and latches for the gate weight. Poorly hung gates sag and bind within months - we do it right the first time so you're not calling us back.

Common Questions

Pedestrian Gate FAQs

Yes - matching your existing fence is one of the most common requests we get. We'll assess your fence style, materials and finish during the site visit and build a gate that blends seamlessly. For timber fences, we match paling profile, height and spacing. For aluminium, we match the profile and powder-coat colour.
Standard pedestrian gates are typically 900mm to 1200mm wide. For wider openings, we recommend a double-leaf gate (two panels meeting in the middle) rather than a single very wide gate, as single gates over 1200mm can sag or bind over time without very robust framing.
We use galvanised or stainless steel hinges, latches and catches suited to the gate weight and use. For exposed or coastal locations we recommend stainless steel hardware. We can fit keyed locksets, bolt latches, spring self-close mechanisms, and drop bolts for double gates.
Yes. We can cut an opening in an existing fence and install new gate posts and a matching gate. The gate posts need to be concreted in properly to carry the gate weight - we don't use existing fence posts for gate hanging as they're typically not heavy enough.
A straightforward pedestrian gate installation typically takes half a day to a full day, depending on whether new posts need to be set in concrete. If posts are poured, we'll return the following day to hang the gate once the concrete has cured sufficiently.
